About AIAAWho we are

Built Like an Air Force. Run Like an Airline.

Advanced International Aviation Academy is an FAA Part 141 certified flight school at Sacramento Executive Airport, California. For more than 15 years we have taken people with no flying experience and turned them into commercial pilots, flight instructors and airline candidates — from India, the United States and across the world.

We are selective about who we train and uncompromising about how. Every lesson follows a written syllabus. Every aircraft is maintained by our own engineers, in our own hangar, a few steps from the flight line. Every stage ends with a check before you move on. That structure is exactly what lets us push you further and faster — safely.

Founded by a former Indian Air Force fighter pilot, AIAA carries one standard into every briefing, every flight and every checkride: define excellence. Not meet it. Define it.

  • Safety is the syllabus

Zero accidents across two decades. Our safety management system is non-negotiable and integrated into every flight hour.

  • Process over shortcuts

Structured airline-grade curriculum with real-time progress tracking. We don’t just teach maneuvers; we teach decision-making.

  • Excellence by definition

Trained by a fighter pilot who has flown more than 44 aircraft types. We define excellence through rigorous evaluation.

Our Founder

Capt. Augustine Joseph

The Fighter Pilot Who Trains Pilots

Capt. Augustine Joseph started where few instructors ever fly: strapped into a fighter jet. As an Indian Air Force pilot he flew fighters, fighter trainers, transport helicopters and helicopter gunships — as a combat pilot and as an instructor — and rose to Chief Operations Officer of a military base.

Then he took that discipline into business. Over four decades he has logged more than 17,000 hours across 44 aircraft types, trained over 2,000 commercial pilots, and built companies whose aircraft — more than 2,500 of them — fly in over 36 countries.

He holds a Master’s in Aviation Science and an MBA, along with commercial airplane and helicopter pilot licences. Away from the flight line he is a tournament-winning golfer and racquetball player, a sought-after motivational speaker, and the founder of a nonprofit for disadvantaged children that every one of his ventures supports.

At AIAA he is not a name on the letterhead. He is your mentor — bringing military precision, airline-grade standards and an entrepreneur’s eye to a full aviation career, not just a certificate.
